Title: Can't Open Database File in MC 12

This morning i downloaded MediaCenter 12 ( latest version on download page ) , but it won't open my "database" created with version 8.0.348 ( trial version ) .
Maybe i'm doing something wrong .
Before i'll buy MC 12 , i want to be sure if i can use the "old" database file. Otherwise i have to stick with version 8.0.348 ( trial )and buy that.
I tried several media organizers , but i'll like this one best.

Hopefully someonce can help me out.

it's possible, but not straight forward.

Hi all  , last week i bought MC 12 and i want to use my "old" database ( MediaJukebox 8 ) .
It seems that MC 12 can't backup/restore databases made with version 8 :

It seems you have to back up with MC 11 .But i can't find a place to download MC 11.

I would really appreciate it , coz it saves  a lot of "work" ( importing , re-tagging....)

Two options:

1. Download and install build 12.0.372, available from the thread pinned to the top of these forums, and it should be able to convert your MJ8 library...
The following change was introduced on the 8th of November:

4. Changed: Added back the ability to restore from a Media Jukebox 8 library.

2. Stick with public download build 12.0.329 available from the main download page, and follow the steps to upgrade using MC11.1
Download MC11 from here: ftp://ftp.jriver.com//pub/downloads/music/old/MC111201.exe

The choice, as they say, is all yours :)

i'm gonna try the second option first , if it don't work , i'll try the 1st option too.

Last week i couldn't d/l MC 11 , now it's OK

Strange things happen sometimes :

Installed new version ( build 12.0.372 ) on my "test" PC , as "30 days Trial". Restored my database file ( MJ 8 ).Is now a 12 MB file .
And it worked !
Saved that file as Library back up.
Installed the new version ( build 12.0.372 ) on my PC  ( i'm already registered ).Tried to restore that backup Library made on the other PC , and it failed.

How come ?
