I've just added some online radio stations (a mp3 stream and an asf stream) to my web media favourites. Now every time I sync my ipod, MC tries includes them in the sync.. Is there something I can do to stop this?
-
That's the first time I've heard that one. Are you syncing your entire library?
-
Yes, but just audio.
-
If you use a smartlist to sync, you can put a rule in it that excludes these web favorites in some way. You just need to utilize a tag that is common to web favorites -- i.e. if all your web favorites have a certain genre, you can create a rule that excludes this genre, or you can use something like the "Web Media URL" tag to exclude any file where this tag is NOT "empty."
I prefer to use smartlists for syncing. I find it makes that they make it much easier to manage iPods.

Thanks.. That's a good workaround.. but shouldn't MC recognise that ipod can't play streaming media?

matt-uk,
In the next build (12.0.385), MC will no longer include URL's in your library when syncing all audio.

Excellent. Thanks! :)

I'm now on version 12.0.395 and it's still trying to sync URL's to my ipod.
-
This only applies if you are synching ALL audio. Is that the case?
-
Yes, my handheld options for the ipod are set with the "All Audio" setting.
-
What is the full filename of one of the files that is getting transferred that shouldn't be?
-
Here are a couple of the full filenames..:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/realaudio/media/r1live.ram
http://media.kcrw.com/live/kcrwlive.ram
It seems to happen with mp3 streams and windows media streams also.

Those should be getting filtered out now - we'll double check this on Monday.
