I know I'm totally missing something obvious here, but in the last 5-6 builds the problems has occured ... all of my videos start at small and I have to resize them to fit the window. What is this OBVIOUS checkbox that I missed somewhere? Most of my videos are .avi files encoded DIVX or XVID.

When you say resize I assume you mean change the aspect ratio?
I've seen a similar problem from time to time, if I stop and start playback again the video is then usuually the correct size (full screen).
Can you try this and see if it does the same for you?

Nope, not the problem or solution. Every time I play a video it's approx 1/4th the size of the screen. Whether I'm playing full-screen or just on Now Playing. I have to use the scroll-wheel and just make it larger until it fits ... this is new and I have no idea why ?

It may be the DirectShow filter you're using. Try a search for divx here. Check glynor's Wiki on video. Link in his signature.

I am puzzled. We always make video size fit the current MC window size until you change it by zooming in or out.

I'm puzzled too. I was actually quietly hoping you'd have an answer. ?
Does the zoom level persist when you stop and restart playback on a per-file basis or anything? Could he have somehow de-zoomed all of his videos and now they're stuck?

No. That is one of the requested features that I have not implemented.

Then I'm really baffled.
It must be in the DirectShow filter stage. Perhaps the Video Renderer isn't obeying MC's zoom level, or maybe thinks the monitor resolution dimensions are different than they are...
I'd be interested to see what the settings he's using are...

Tell me where to look and I'll give you ANY info you could possibly want.
I've forced it to use the Windows Media Player renderer, turned off DIVX rendering, modified the rendering software, etc ... I cant get anything to work.

I thought I did that. Please investigate divx and directx. Search here or google. Read glynor's wiki entry.
