I have been trying to figure out why some of my video files just will hang-up MC12 while others play perfectly well (all are decoded in mp4, AVC, direktshow being used with ffdshow). I now figured that it may be related to bookmarking, ie MC12 seems to play all those files alright that have a bookmark and dont start "at the beginning", while others, that will have to be played back from the start will just hang-up the system.
Again, I am not sure whether it is related to bookmarks. Any suggestions how I could test this out a bit further?
Thanks

Hey there. Some of us here have had very similar problems for quite a while now. In my case, I get very random hangs while seeking dvr-ms video. Do you ever experience hangs during seeks? I've not considered bookmarking to be a possible cause for this before. I'll look into this further....
If you disable bookmarking for a given problem file (using the new database option) does playback then consistently work for you?
Thanks.

Just trying to figure out where I have to disable bookmarking. Any clues?
However, having done more testing, hangs appears to be rather random. One file that hanged on one occasion, played after rebooting the whole system. But these hangs are a true bugger.. :(

there is a new field you can find in the tags called 'use bookmark', and you can set that to yes, no or default.

I'm hearing you!
Let us know if you uncover anything else that may be relevant. The more info we can gather, the closer the developers may get to fixing it.
Thanks.
