Title: Fixed: HTPC Jitter (esp with DTV) - but it will cost $$$

I've been trying to reduce my DTV "jitter" with little sucess but I can now say I've pretty much got it solved, but it cost a pretty penny as I've just installed a new TV, the Pio Kuro LX608 (think it is called the "Elite" in the US).  Not wanting to promote any product but MC12 output from my HTPC output looks just fantastic.  For those that are interested the setup is:
- Vista Ultimate
- G33 based chipset with HDMI Output (using a Shuttle SG33G5) @ 1080p/50
- MS Video & Audio Decoders for DTV (while not as good as the inbuilt Kuro Tuner, it is now very smooth!!!)
- nVidia Video & Audio Decoders for MPG playback with HW decoding turned off and deinterlacing etc set to Automatic

While it is early days (only have the new TV for a few hours) it appears that the setup is nice and stable with no tearing etc

Sounds like a very nice setup. Got any pics?

What are you using to set the onboard video output to 1080p/50hz? Does shuttle provide it's own video console or are you just doing this thru the native Vista control panel?

The Intel HDMI G33 chipset comes with its own untility that I've used to set 1080p/50hz but the utility does not do much, just lets you set basic res settings just like in control panel.

Looks great! It's pleasing to hear 50hz is provided as an "in-built" option. Will definately need to look into this for myself.

Oh one other question, how does the Windows desktop look? Overscan? Fuzzy text?

Perfect....Sharp Stable and Great Overscan handling! - The Pio has a 1:1 pixel mapping option for 1080p signals so I get the best of both worlds, Overscan for non 1080p sources (eg Foxtel etc) and No Overscan for the HTPC, PS/3 etc....

The only downside is it is a very expensive PC Monitor  ;D

Share the love, nice setup. Anyone in the U.S. can get a 42" Vizio GV42LF 1080P 1:1 for 850$ on Dec. 7 at Sears if you put the charge to a Sears Card. There is more info at the AVS forum owners thread. Things looking tight with this display via HDMI for me with MC12 and XP x86.

The last three PCs I've built have all had the Intel DG33TL mobo which of course uses the G33 chipset.

Nice little board and it supports the 3 gz dual cores and (so far) all of the new quad cores.

Mobo, fast cpu, and 2 Gb of ram cost me about $400-.  Should be cheaper now, I believe that Intel has quietly lowered prices on the fastest of the non-Extreme dual cores.
