Title: Sorting (11 vs 12) ...
Post by: xen-uno on November 16, 2007, 11:14:01 am
Hi Jim, Matt, King, & JRiver crew ... how ya been? Good here.

Have MC12 (370). Trying to duplicate 11's sorting. Here's 11 with Media Library selected (note track sequence is correct) ...

Here is 12 with identical sort setup with Audio selected ...

12 is technically correct as it's sorting by artist 1st. 11 does some kind of track # override which I like, because it works well when you've drilled down to a specific multi-artist album. Any way to duplicate 11's behavior?

*** also note vertical column divider lines starting below last record in 12 (not there in 11). Anyway to get rid of them? Note the slight blemish on the selected Artist header as well (which is where the right click menu corner was)***

Listening to: 'At Least We Tried' from '18' by 'Moby' on Media Center 12

PS: 12 is quite groovy, seems more polished mechanically than 11.

you could use "album artist (auto)" for sorting instead of artist.

Album artist goofs up main list (that is ... with no search criteria). The way it's setup up now works well with non-compilations, but does break up compilations ...

I can live with that as when drilling with 11, compilations will sort as desired (tho not correctly according to sort parameters). I like 11's bug if it is one.
