I'm just shocked every time I find things like this. Normaly the features I stumble upon are not this big, but most of them are highly usefull none the less.
This editor certainly will not compete with photoshop, but is good enough (for me) to do basic corrections on images.
You just keep on baffling me. I salute you! :)

I'm really glad that MC has it's own image editor, but I am hoping that it won't just be a "light" ( as some one put it) editor for very long. It doesn't have to be photoshop at all, just a bit more "heavier" :)
Similar like other image viewers/organizers (eg. Acdsee, Faststone (which has a strong image editor and is free) , etc...)
Also, it shouldn't be so hard for users to discover. I know about it now, but it should be obvious to new users from "go".

I agree mostly in that it is currently a tiny bit hard to find. It's not too bad, but... When an image is playing, they should add Edit Image to the right click command. If you insist, put it under Advanced Image Commands, but I'd just throw it in the top-level right click menu like it is when an image is selected in a any other View.

I think it should also have a short cut in " Start - All programs - JRiver Media Center 12 " programs folder. The same place where there is a shortcut to the MC's Media Editor.

Darn it. I clicked the wrong button and deleted my post. ::) 8)
I always figured this was a legacy feature that JRiver just keeps neglecting to remove. I say that because I literally can't remember the last the application actually worked without crashing:

Maybe two years ago under MC 9. :D

Well thank goodness it doesn't crash on me :)
But as you might have or not noticed, there has been some requests for an improved image editor.

Nah, I use either Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro exclusively, hence why I have never reported the persistent crash. But thanks for the link nonetheless! :)
Besides, rereading the above posts, I'm now thinking maybe "Media Editor" and "Image Editor" aren't the same thing. Are they? How exactly does one access this, as reported above, hidden tool? (I get to the "Media Editor" via the "Send To-->Send To (external)-->Media Editor.")

No, Media editor is for audio if I'm correct. :-\
