Hello MC
I brought this up in a previous post, but there was no reply, so I decided to start a new post.
As I have said before, I often use MC when I am relaxing. Could it be possible for MC's Tree-View-Pane to have an auto hide/show capabilty.
A number of other programs have it, example being "ala Lightroom" (as someone previously put it" :P) , but which has a nice feature to customize the panes with setting such as " hide" , "show" , "auto hide/show" , so that with one moves ones mouse to the edge, it shows , and if one takes it way , it disappears. :)
This can obviously be a personal preference setting.
Thankyou

Hello Racherock
We seem often to be on the same track.
An auto-hide setting could also be a nice treat.
If Mc decides to answer Racherock, could they also consider this request please.
Could it be possible to add these "minimize" arrow button to the top pane when using playlists?
So that if I'm watching photos in a playlist, I can minimize this top pane.
As before, I added a snapshot...

We have no plans to do this.

It's possible, but we have no plans to do it. You can use Display View to get a full screen view.

I wouldn't like or use the Auto-Hide feature suggested by the parent poster. However, I would like to be able to hide the Playlist Header with the normal arrows as suggested by cosmicfx. I'd say -- for simplicity for novice users -- it shouldn't remember it's hiding when you navigate away and back to the playlist (which I think would be a reasonable trade-off).

It's there.
Click the two little up arrows at the top right of the view header.

I didn't used to be available for playlist headers.... But I admit I haven't checked in a while and just assumed the poster was (still) correct. I'll check then.

It would be nice (and consistent) to have the minimise arrows in the view header in panes view too. On some skins the arrows on the horizontal divider are quite difficult to see.

No, it isn't. I thought I hadn't missed that.
You can hide the Panes/Tiles, but you cannot hide the Playlist Header (not for a Smartlist or a regular Playlist). There are no little up arrows.

Wow! Thanks Matt!! :)
I didn't notice those arrows there b4. It does exactly what I wanted.
Big Thanks.

Ahhh.... You sneaky bugger. I need to read better, because now I see them. ::) :-[
I agree with Ludo. It'd be better to match the minimization method that is used everywhere else. I totally missed it for who knows how many builds.

At a minimum the double ^ button needs a tooltip describing what it does...

I definitely agree. I've been using MC for quite a while now, and that pane in playlists always bothered me, wishing I could minimize it.
And what do you know,ta-da!, it's been there all the time.
I definitely think as Luno said, consistency.
( heck I think even Jim might have missed it, as he mentioned that feature would not be considered for future versions. ) lol!!!
No disrespect meant, just thought it was funny. ;D
