Hi,
Some (avi) files have more than one audio track. How does one make MC play just one track?
It seems to me that MC plays both tracks simultaneously...

It shouldn't be ;)
Try looking beyond MC first- Does WMP play both audio streams at once?
Also, check if you have Haali set to handle AVI files or not- IIRC the default is for it not to, but when there are multiple audio tracks it's needed. (Last page of the CCCP settings application)

It isn't MC. It's FFDSHOW. FFDSHOW doesn't split the audio by default, you have to turn it on. Read this from the FAQ in the Wiki: http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php/Video_Files_with_Multiple_Audio_Streams
