Title: MC12 - MJ12 side by side?
Post by: StFeder on December 03, 2007, 09:59:55 am
Hey guys!

I'd like to give MJ12 a try, because I’d want to suggest this version to some of my friends. But not without taking a look at it.
So: Is it possible to use MJ12 and MC12 side by side? Or does an installation of MJ12 effect MC12 in any way e.g. messing up settings, filetags or libraries?

Thanks!

It's safe to do.  Back up your library first, just to be certain.

So what are the primary differences between MC12 and MJ12?  Besides video, of course.  Are zones supported in MJ12?

Is MC now still worth it? I mean I purchased MC12 not long ago, and now you've released a free player as well.

Ah, zones not supported in MJ12.  No biggie as I've already got MC.  But given I never use the video features I'd actually prefer a version that wasn't encumbered with it (since they're not very good anyway).

Worth what? $40? I guess so, since you paid it.

I think MJ12 is an upgraded MJ8 rather than a downgraded MC12. Maybe you could say it's both, but from what I've read there's a whole load of difference. I've not had a look at it yet, but will have a play over the holidays.

If there are particular issues with the Video playback in MC12 please bring them up in the MC12 forum.
