Hi all,
just wondering if it's possible to specify for 'folders' as the pane option, where to start it from.
I have all my mp3's under a specific directory and dont want the full path showing up in the pane, I just want the remainder of the path after a certain start point.
Is this at all possible?
it's also extremely useful for my photos which are all under one directory and when i want to sort them by folders.
Thanks :)

Click on the first pane header
choose "add pane to left"
in the first menu, choose type "File Path" from the drop down menu
enter the base path to start from
click OK.
does that do what you want?

I dont see this field name anywhere and the fields I do see related to filename (path), etc - none of them let me specify a base path? :(

you must change the "Type" to 'file path'.

The solution marko suggested is very limited in any case. The "File Path" list doesn't allow browsing various subfolders and changing the drive letter.
It would be nice if a "Disk Location" selection in the tree could be used for prefiltering the standard pane and thumbail view scheme items. Currently when a folder is selected in the tree the right side can show only a simple file display.

I've never understood why when you filter using the Tree you can't also use the Panes. Why can't it just "pre-select" the items you choose in the Tree automatically in any relevant panes showing (rather than hiding them)?
That way you could use both. As is, if you have something selected in the tree, you have to scroll way up and select the View Scheme itself to get back to use the Panes.

Ah - didn't look in the type - thanks :)
