Hello,
I am looking for a way to auto-delete podcasts based on a specific rule for each podcasts.
I am really making full use of podcasts, including to download the hourly news or other daily program. What ends up happening is that MC will stop downloading any podcasts because it has reached the maximum disk space allocated.
However, I only want to keep the x number of most recent episodes for many of the podcasts and would really like MC to remove the entry from the library and delete older files to make room for the more recent ones. This is how I have my PVR (SageTV) setup to record many of my "favourite" shows.
Can I do this somehow with MC ? Is this something I should be making a feature request about ?
Thanks.

Is there no way to do this ?

Heeelllllppppp ! ;D

Select a feed and choose "Edit this feed". There are several options there.

Thanks Jim.
I has already found and set this ... I guess this means you have developed good, logical software, even for stupid users .... ;D
However, it doesn't seem to work the way I intended it to. While it appears that MC is deleting the podcast, the entry into the library is still there. For example, my hourly news podcast has an entry for 24 separate episodes for the last couple of months which makes the list really tough to manage. I have set the number of podcast to be kept to 2.
Is this the way it is intended to work ?
Thanks again.

Are you using a recent build? 12.0.388 is available on the top of this board.

It sounds like the newscasts are still in the feed. That's coming from the source.

I was using a build 10-15 build old. I have updated to the 388 build and that has not made a difference in the behavior of the podcast lists.
Most of the podcasts are listed as not in feed.
Here is a screen shot -

sorry to bump ...

We don't truncate the feeds based on user settings right now - we show every episode listed in the feed. You can manually delete the older episodes and then make sure you have Hide Deleted Episodes set.

OK, that explains that. Would it be possible to introduce that as a podcast specific rule down the road ?
Imagine opening the library listing for a podcast only to find 40 entries, only a couple of which are downloaded or available.
Thanks.
