Title: MC Locking mp3 player when open
Post by: johnnyboy on December 11, 2007, 04:38:26 am
Hiya,
Just recently noticed some very annoying behavior of MC.

If I connect my mp3 player (a Cowon D2) to my computer (it shows up as an external drive) and transfer some files onto it (using Explorer) and then try to disconnect it safely using the icon in the system tray, I am unable to remove the device safely.

I have to first close down MC (very annoying when I'm just trying to listen to some music on it) and then disconnect the device then load up MC again and resume listening to my music.

I can understand the logic behind making MC automatically open any newly added device in the AW, but after I close down this AW, MC should just release the device fully.

I dont want to have to interrupt my music every time I want to change files on my mp3 player.

Hopefully this is something easily fixed.

Thanks :)

Odd.

In MC settings for Handhelds, you can tell MC to ignore the device.

You might try using MC to transfer the files.  It can do a nice job.  It also has an Eject button.
