Title: Compatible remote controls?
Post by: tristeve on December 14, 2007, 03:22:17 pm
Will the "Microsoft Universal Media Remote" work with MC12? Is this all I would need once I've started the remote plugin?

Any other remotes a good choice?

TIA,

Try searching for remote on this forum.  You'll get lots of hits.

I'm very happy with my Snapstream FireFly (http://www.amazon.com/SnapStream-Media-Firefly-PC-Remote/dp/B0002808S4/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1197668054&sr=8-1) remotes, which I programmed via Girder (http://www.girder.nl/).  You don't necessarily need to use Girder, but it gives you a lot more control.  Snapstream also makes a Mini Firefly (http://www.amazon.com/SnapStream-Media-Firefly-Mini-Remote/dp/B000ETYVHU/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1197668054&sr=8-2) which is a bit cheaper and has most of the same buttons.  Both are RF (radio) controls, so they work through walls and whatnot.  I like mine a lot.  If you decide to go this route, feel free to ask for help if you need it.

Other people have had lots of success with the Microsoft Windows MCE Remotes, the Logitech Harmony remotes, and a wide variety of other remotes.
