Title: A Very Merry Solstice!
Post by: JimH on December 23, 2007, 10:10:47 am
It was simpler when we were small and the U.S. was less worldly, less politically correct.

But what the heck, Merry Christmas!  Happy Honnakuh!  Feliz Navidad and whatever else you believe in.

Rejoice in the fact that it will now get lighter every day.  (It's pure white outside here in Minnesota today, with snow blowing sideways.)

This time of year, we go to work in the dark and come home in the frozen dark, so it's nice to think that March is around the corner and that the marshes will fill with water again and the birds and bees will get back to business as usual.

JRiver had another great year.  We're 26 years old now.  (I wish I was 26.)  We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  You're the bright lights in our world.  You keep us going, keep us sharp, remind us when we forget to pick up our socks.

Interact is truly a worldly community and I'm grateful for what we've learned from you.  I'm grateful for your generous spirit, your amazing sense of humor, and the depth of your knowledge.  Thank you.

Next week will be slow here.  I hope we'll get another build out on Monday, because the rest of the week we get to eat and watch TV.  We won't be back until after New Year's Day.

I'm going south to a small island with a big beach.  I plan to eat and drink and get sun burned and forget who I am.  I hope I can find a sailboat to fool around with.

Tomorrow and the next day we've got our "kids" around.  Three girls.  Three beauties.  Three sets of shining eyes.

So, I raise my coffee cup to you and all our world.  Eat, drink, be merry!

And don't forget to write.

Cheers,

Jim

Two Christmas parties this year - one today in the heat ( it's 34 degrees today ), barbequed turkey, gluwine over ice, and no doubt everyone ending up in the pool.  Then a midnight flight arriving in Europe at 5AM on Christmas day, in time for a sub-zero celebration.

A warm and happy Christmas to all…

Thanks Jim!!  And yes.. It is very, very nice to have the daylight hours increasing.  Those of us in Maine (which should REALLY, REALLY be in Atlantic Time) abhor these days where the sun sets before 4pm.   ::)

We are having Ham For Dinner Tomorrow (So Are My Dogs).

Ginger Had 6 Chiwawa Puppies Last Week, There Eyes Are Still Closed, and she has been a good mom.

We Are Also Having Potato Salad (After I Make It) My Wife Made Some Over The Weekend But With All The Testing I Was Doing It Is All Gone.

I Know I am not allowed to drink, and I know My Dr. is going to yell at me, and my next liver enzyme test is going to come out looking like mount Everest, but it is German Beer, And To top that off I got some German Berentzen - ApfelKorn (Apple Schnapps) I am keeping it in the freezer to keep it cold, gosh that stuff is good.

I also got my wife A Nice Diamond necklace, some deluxe vacuum cleaner bags, and a Swisher sweep.

Since I don't watch sports (Including Football) unless the remote control sticks when flipping channels, I will be watching allot of Court TV, Discovery, National Geographic and the history channel.

Ho, Ho, Ho...

Here's how you could make Ginger know she's really special:

Vadeland is fatherland?

Sorry.  I can't spell in Dutch.

Lowland, as in Ameland, Vieland, Texel, Terschelling, and so on.

I hope the pay is good.

:)yep. vaderland is fatherland. you are doing fine with the spelling. a wise spanish student in amsterdam once said:
when you see the dutch light and you hear the dutch language you understand why that country has so many great painter and so few great composers.
hes right. so be aware.  :)
