Title: Request: Better control over mediakeys
Post by: neFAST on December 25, 2007, 12:04:13 pm
[edit]

Hi, I've played with my MCE remote and I've come to the conclusion that I would like to disable some buttons to reconfigure them.
The problem is that if I use an external tool to reconfigure say the TV button, whatever I assign to this button, MC will receive two signals: the "tv guide" and my configured action.
So I can't recycle this button since MC will always launch the TV if I press it.

What would be nice would be to disable mediakeys one by one (for example keep play/pause ffw .. and drop tv/dvd)
or to be able to include such keys in Resources.xml

Any other idea ?

Hi everyone.
I just wonder if it's possible to set up global hotkeys for MC. I mean hot-keys that works event when MC isn't the active window.
I just bought a MCE remote and I would like to skip songs or adjust volume when somebody else is using the computer. But beside playing with my remote I think it would be cool if I could quickly rate/skip songs or adjust level when using my computer without displaying MC window.

Another question concerning MCE remote: is there a way to reconfigure buttons? I've found several post talking about this remote but nothing about aternate drivers.

Ok, half of the answer is here : User_Defined_Global_Keyboard_Shortcuts (http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php/User_Defined_Global_Keyboard_Shortcuts).
I just need to find how I reassign one useless button to a specific shortcut now.

I played with resources.xml this evening. I can't get shortcuts with NumPadx to work. Even the defaults ones throw different events than what's in the xml:
<Entry Key="Ctrl;Shift;NumPad0" Command="10023" Param="0" />

Then I thought I found a table remote button <---> equivalent keystroke and I tried to map them but it does not work?

So any idea how I could turn my remote global?

i played with the resource.xml. but i can not help. i disabled the media keys using girder (and assigned them again to more specific or other tasks). never thought about using the resource xml for that.
