I just got Media center 12 and hooked up a classic 80gb ipod. Media center found the ipod right away, so I added songs to it by dragging them into the box at the bottom left. When I went into the place where all of the songs were, on my ipod, of course they were there. I transfered them and ejected the ipod. However, when I went onto the ipod, the songs were not there. I plugged the ipod back into the computer and found the songs again listed in the place that said ipod. In the "Status" of all of the songs, they said "on device". I tried this over and over again and it still showed the same results. Does anyone know why they keep showing up on media center, but not on the ipod. Also, the Ipod is brand new so there should not be any problems with it.
Thanks,
Tactranger

What build of MC12 are you using? It must be reasonably new since Apple has made a lot of changes.
Does the iPod work with iTunes?

I am using JRiver Media Center 12.0.403, but for $40 I would expect any purchased Media Center to be functional for Ipod syncs. All mp3 transfers from Media Center indicate that it was successful. However, no songs ever appear on the Ipod. Strange, since the first time we tried Media Center with a transfer of one song it worked perfectly.
Any help would be appreciated.

We agree. We believe it is working. But Apple is a moving target lately.
Does it work with iTunes? It's possible the firmware needs to be updated.

I am having the same problems here. When I look at my computer and click on the ipod, its says that the space is being used and when i look into the file folders i can find the songs that were transferred from media center but they dont show up on the ipod screens at all..... What to do?

Try updating MC. 404 is the current build.

I just upgraded to 23 and have the same problem.
First JRiver said it needed to initialize my ipod so I said OK
The ipod then showed up and I set up sync rules to sync based on one playlist.
This worked and all songs show as "on device".
I ejected the ipod and went to play songs and it says No Music.
Looking at ipod on Explorer I found the files under "ipod_Control/Music/F00 " through "ipod Control/Music/F19"
each folder contains some of the songs on the playlist and songs play if selected.
I would like to avoid having to use iTunes AND JRiver.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
