Title: DVD cover art being displayed
Post by: Blue_eyes4dss on January 04, 2008, 04:54:20 pm
I have searched and searched forums and the web looking for a straight answer to this. I just starting using media center 12 as an alternative to windows vista media center. Media center in windows has a nice feature where you can have a picture file named "folder.jpg" in the same directory as your VOB and IFO files and it will automatically display the picture file named "folder.jpg" for that specific DVD (as long as you performed the registry hack to enable this).

So my question is, does media center 12 have this feature, or do you have to manually create cover art and attach it to the video file?

I have all my DVD's on a network drive. I can find and play them from media center 12 and would like the cover art to automatically show up so I don't have to manually do this on each computer.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try:
Right-click > Cover Art > Quick Find In File / Cover Art Directory

For new art, you can tell MC to use Folder.jpg in Options > File Location > Cover Art

I'm guessing Media Center 12 does not use XML files to view content, correct?

It isn't clear what you mean.  Can you explain?

At www.dvdxml.com you can download an XML, put it on the folder of the movie associated with it, and it will reach the internet to creat a picture and movie file information (this is a nice feature in windows media center).
