Title: Editing top level view schemes?
Post by: Vulcan on January 08, 2008, 08:46:15 pm
I'm wondering if there is a way that I can fully edit the top level view schemes.  I see that I can modify everything about the Audio, Video and Pictures schemes except for the names.  I'd like to be able to change the names so that I have one view scheme for my lossy audio and a seperate view scheme for my lossless audio.

You can create any number of child (or grandchild, etc.) view schemes.

You can also create root view schemes by picking something like "Start" then doing Edit > Add View Scheme...

Is there any way to make these into the icon style though, liek the Audio, Video and Images schemes are by default?

No.

You could make the first pane in the Audio view scheme the choice between lossless and lossy. (look into the search list compoent type)

If you add a field, I find (this may be a bug) that I can get the top three items to drop down to the rows of items.  I often get Video to drop down by adding file path and it auto renames the item away from "Video" so MC doesn't recognize it as a top item.
