I am using a new UPnP device called EZ4Media. It works like a charm with Media Center.
Currently the MC UPnP server starts only when I login and start MC on the PC. Is there any way I can start the UPnP server without having to login and start MC manually?
The reason is simple. MC resides on a desktop with XP Home and one other user login. Usually SHE uses the desktop and does not use MC.
Ideally I would like UPnP server to be starter via the machine startup (msconfig/startup). Any ideas?

Put MC's Media Server in the startup folder so it loads on Windows boot. That should do what you want.

Thanks Jim for the quick response. What the above requires is that not only that the machines is on but a user is logged in.
Can the UPnP server be loaded like the Window Media Player's WMPNSCFG.exe?
Thanks.

No, but I seem to remember someone finding a work around. I don't remember what it was. Try google.

Have you tried using Firedaemon Pro to start Media Server? Media Server can run your UPnP server in the background.
