Title: Making a copy of ONLY files in playlists - question of How to Do It
Post by: jack wallstreet on January 13, 2008, 10:02:28 pm
Normally, I copy playlists and associated files in the playlists to a handheld (syncing).  However, I also would like a copy on a hard drive.  Is there any way to do this syncing (or similar function) to a connected hard drive or a directory in a hard drive.  In other words, not copy an entire library but only the files that are in selected playlists (and ideally the playlists in m3u format - although the playlists could be a separate manual process and wouldn't be a problem.)

Go to Tools\Options\Handheld and add a device giving it a name that is meaningful to you and point it to the folder that you want to sync your files to.

In the Sync List select the playlist(s) you wish to sync to the folder. Review the remainder of the options you might like to specify. Press ok.

Now got to Drives and Devices in the tree and select your new "device".

Press Sync Now and you are done.

Thanks RJM.  This was very helpful.  Another example of the power of MC12.
