Title: Problems with Unicode and RAW image files

Ok, this one is gonna sound weird, but I swear it's true...

As posted in another thread, I've started taking photos in RAW (.ORF) format. One thing I just realized in that MC (404) is having problems accesing/processing these files if they are inside a folder that contains Japanese characters. The symptoms are: 1) MC won't import them and 2) if I change the folder name, import them, and then change the folder back from within MC, then MC won't display them.

I tested this further by renameing the Filename Path from within MC for 1 image to non-Japanese. I could then view the image in MC. I then renamed the path back to the original and tried again and could no longer view the image in MC.

Other, non-RAW (JPEG) files work fine. As do some audio and video files that have Japanese paths and/or filenames.

Oops, big problem now (in 421), I can't import new RAW (ORF) files at all, no matter what the path or filename is. MC says that the import failed and shows entries like this in the log:

It does this for all new ORFs that I'm trying to import. I also can't view or play them. Interestingly, all of the ORFs that were previously imported are still available and can be played.

BTW, I can import other, non-ORF images, like JPEG.

Confirmed for RAW files in general.  (My CR2's will not import.)

Fixed in 12.0.423.

A bug I introduced was masked by the RAW file cache.  New files are not in the cache so the bug was exposed.

It should be up there in 428.  Let me know if I bozo'd anything this time.

If everyone just used Canon products this would be much easier.  (Canon has a wonderful SDK.)
