Every time I log in and click Playlists, I get a slideshow of all my pictures and songs from my library which aren't in any playlist I've created. How can I get this to stop? When I click Playlists, I am expecting only a list of my album titles.
-
Try a single click, not a double click.
-
Thanks. Great. I'm sure my wife will remember EXACTLY one click so she can avoid seeing my entire porn collection set to music. Why should the second click cause this to happen? If it requires one click, the second click shouldn't cause ANYTHING to happen.
-
There are many opinions on what a click or double click "should" do. You can set MC the way you want in tools/options/general/behavior.
-
By default, double-click always plays inside Media Center.
What should play when double-clicking the root of Playlists is a gray area, but we default to the whole library for legacy reasons.
As for the extravaganza problem, you may consider the access control feature or a different library.

There must be another way around this. I want my wife to be able to listen to music, so I can't put a password lock on it. It isn't the kind of thing she's going to go digging for--I just don't want it to hit her in the face when she turns on the music, especially since it isn't clear on how to turn it off. Can't the "feature" just be disabled?
-
You may have misunderstood Matt.
Access control makes all files that match the criteria you specify invisible during normal use. So for example, you could assign a keyword "personal" to files you do not want visible and then tell access control to hide all files with keyword "personal".
No password is required unless you want to turn off access control so you can see all the files in your library.

There is another way to load the entire library and thats by dbl-clicking in an *empty* section of Playing Now.
If Options->General->Behaviour->Start Playing when files added to Playing Now
..is checked
then you will also get the same 'extravaganza' :)

File/Library/Library Manager will let you set up a completely different library. You could keep several.

hahahah...
Do what Matt said. Use Access Control. Any files you want can be made invisible in MC until you enter a password this way.
-
Or you could lose the porn and try spending a little more quality time with your wife.

Good night, Gracie.
