Would be nice if zones could be configured to retain specific audio renderer output settings for directshow. Possability some day?

Each zone can already specify a different renderer. This was added a while back.
The next public build will also store DirectShow filters per-zone.
I use this a lot at home where I have one computer powering an office, theater, and work out room. Each zone needs a different renderer since they're hooked to different sound cards and sound card lines.

Pretty sure this is not working for me with directshow renderer. I want to have zone that I can use to ouput both audio and video to my TV (Zone TV) so I don't have to turn on all my amps (Zone Stereo).
Both zones are not retaining a unique audio output for video under directshow settings; they end up set as whichever one is manually set for a zone.

Just double checked.
I have default wave device as Realtek HD output (TV), and with both zones, the same renderer is being applied. I keep trying to use default wave and the other as EMU wave device. I'll try the new version of Mc in a miute.

While MC is in Zone 1, I go to DirectShow playback settings, and choose "DirectSound: Realtek HD audio rear output" for audio renderer. Afterwards all DirectShow video played in Zone 1 is sent to that renderer. While in another zone, do to DirectShow playback settings again, and choose another audio renderer. All video playback in that zone is played through the other renderer.
they end up set as whichever one is manually set for a zone.
Can you explain what you mean here? What is manually set? Once a renderer is chosen for a zone, it should be used every time a video is played in that zone.

Maybe the issue is related to using wave output and not directsound.
When I try to set a specific renderer for each zone it gets applied to EVERY zone; so if I set Zone 1 and then Zone 2 to unique renderers and go back to Zone 1, Zone 1 gets the Zone 2 rendere applied to it.
I have two wave devices on the system, so I emant that In Windows sounds & Devices, I was setting either the EMU or REALTEK as default and trying to use Zone 1 = default wave device and Zone 2 = EMU or REALTEK. No matter what I did, the zones ended up with the same renderer that I chose in MC for one zone.
Let me try directsound with the Realtek.
Nope, whatever I choose as the rendered in one zone gets applied to all zones, only for directshow playback.

Finally had a chance to check on two other PCs running Vista Ultimate x86 (originally spotted bug on XP SP2. I'm observing the same behavior in these two other machines that are running .421.
