Title: Playback stutters when ripping CD
Post by: enigman on January 24, 2008, 03:12:20 am
I've got a strange problem with MC:

When ripping CDs in MC, playback will stutter and "slow down" - it's a strange effect, it's as if the playback is starting and stopping many times per second, creating a slowed down effect, which will slow down and speed up during the course of playback.

The strange thing is that when ripping tracks in Windows Media Player I do not have this problem.

A few details which might be helpful to debug:

Using build 404
Playback both within and outside of MC is impacted.
Occurs with both normal and secure ripping modes, as well as on-the-fly encoding vs post rip encoding
CPU usage is high, but not maxed out

Thanks!

Please goto MC Help>System Info and paste that in your next post.

I have this too sometimes.
Pretty sure MC is just getting hung on hard to read parts and its effecting playback.
Always figured it was normal.

Here's my system info
It's drive D (the other one is just a virtual drive)
It seems to happen all the time, regardless of what condition the CD is in.

Thanks!
