Title: Helios Labs x5000
Post by: BooBoo2 on January 28, 2008, 02:40:59 am
Hi can anyone point me to a way I can get my x5000 to work with the media player?

I am present trying different softwares before I settle with a 'face' to my home network and this J rivers media player looks so promising because it appears so flexible and well supported.

Is it possible to modify a current UPnP device and if so where would i find the files in the software?  The x5000 is supposed to be quite similar to the buffalo player so any help or comments would be appriciated

c'mon people any help at all? :'(

http://www.helios-labs.com/us/products/X5000/x5000_tech_specs.shtml

the x5000 is a cool bit of kit but the software is basic(Neolink).
The x5000's software is a form of early network media box. 'Neolink and MyIHome are the same except that MyIHome Has more themes with it and is XP and Vista compatible.'
It would be really helpful if some one could point me in a useful direction on why Medai player12 wont see the network player automatically and how to alter the setting in some form to be able to get them in harmony.
cheers :-*

If it is a UPnP device, you can try changing some of the UPnP settings in MC.

Make sure you have the UPnP server started.

The server is under Servers and Services in the tree on the left of MC.

Also, report your system info here, and copy-and-paste the UPnP server status page.

Not that this helps your issue but...
What a coincidence.  For some unknown reason I have been getting the Helios newsletter for the longest time (I may have signed up for it years ago).  Finally today I wrote them an email.  I don't use the email address I signed up with anymore so I can't reply from it.  It is simply forwarded.  Trying to clean up my "potentially requested" newsletters.
