Title: Installed skin looks different than the picture in the example...

Hello everyone.  I'm on about day 15 of my 30-day evaluation, so far so great - MC is the cat's meow. 

I was playing with some of the skins from the "Skins & Plugins" page (link at the top of the forums) and noticed that some (e.g. Aluminum, iTunes 5+) show icons for Audio, Images and Video over on the right underneath "Search" instead of in the left pane. 

However, when I install the skins the big block buttons for Audio, Images and Video remain over in the left pane and there an't little icons under the search box on the right.  Otherwise, the skins look as promised. 

I wonder if I'm doing something wrong?

The little icons on the right are from much older versions of Media Center.
They were removed in MC11 at some point, as they didn't offer anything the tree didn't
and cluttered up the interface.  The screenshots are probably just old.

I see... too bad.  I kind of like them.  The screenshots are for skins listed under MC12 - maybe the same skin works for the different versions, and it just shows the old screenshot?  No matter...

Is there any way to get rid of the larger Audio /  Image / Video buttons on the left pane?  I would love to turn them into either menu/tree items or at least icon-based buttons with a bit of style...

you can change the icon, but the choices are limited. you find them under edit scheme>image. you can change the name in the language files. but they will stay where they are. but you can add items outside those in the tree.

I thought there was a way to change the tree icons by adding some file somewhere? Helpful, I know... :P
