After installing MC 12.0.428 on my client comp I can no longer play files from the server comp.
The client does connect correctly but when playing any file I get an error that the file does not exist. Double clicking the file windows explorer plays the files in MC without any problem.
Downgrading to 12.0.422 solves the problem.

I'm seeing this as well. I'm wondering if this is a return to the "m01p://192.168.144.1/" pathing error? (this is the reported file path in this scenario)
More info... the same library, connected to via a CIFS share plays fine. the problem is with the Client / Server functionality.

Same problem here...
02/03/08 14:00:51 - Received request for a file: //Tower/Music_Lossless/Various/End of Days/01 - Camel Song.flac
02/03/08 14:00:51 - Error sharing file, it is not part of the library.
Shouldn't those be back slashes?

Confirmed here as well -- library loads, but songs won't play.
I also noticed some really weird cover art issues when using the client. When I browse to files via the "Drives and Devices" tree (which does not utilize the library), the cover art is messed up -- I either see albums that have podcast cover art, or no art displays at all. When I switch to the local library and browse to the same folders, the correct art appears.
I didn't catch that forward/backward slash issue -- that was a good catch if this is indeed the problem.

I see this as well when trying to play the music on a client connected to the same version on the library server. The library will load but music won't play.
I get a pop up saying "Media Center encountered errors while trying to play the last several files. Please make sure that the path in your media library points to the right location."
It works again when I revert back to 12.0.404.

This will be fixed in the next build.
Sorry for the hassle.
