I want to sort a view scheme in order of the track#. So I click on the Track# column header to get that done. But the result is that some tracks aren't on the postion they should be. For instance the order is 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 5, 9, 12.
Does somebody know what could have caused this problem and how to solve it?

Maybe you have different 'year' on some tracks?.
Check what differs track number 5 against the first 4 tracks.
You can sort the order so that the track # is on top (first priority)
Just right-click on any column header - then select 'Customize current view...'

All tracks have different years. But I think that doesn't matter if Track# is first priority. So the list should be in order of track#. But it isn't.

Is shuffle on?

Is shuffle on?
No, shuffle is off, but that shouldn't influence the list order in the view.

The problem is solved. I discovered that the wrong listed tracks had '2' in the Disc# tag, as all the other files had no disc #.
Thanks for your concern.

Disc # overrides Track # regardless of what you put in the sort settings. This has caused me problems many times. I now clear Disc # whenever I add anything to my library to avoid this problem.

FYI: Disc # 1 and Disc # 'blank" are treated the same.
I use disc # for everything, it allows taking disc # out of the album title.
