I started using the podcast feature. It's great. But every time a podcast is downloaded an icon named something like "http___podcastdownload.npr.org_anon.npr-podcasts_podcast_13_18759086_Folder" shows up on my desktop. Are they needed? It sure clutters things up.

Hmm... never seen that. You might want to check your various folder locations in MC's settings.
General file locations : Tools->Options->File Location (might be the Temporary Files location?)
Podcast folder : Tools->Options->Podcast->Podcast Directory

Nothing there looks strange. I thought I remembered seeing a podcast cover art option awhile ago, but I can't find it now.
Any other ideas.

Are you running the most current version of MC? There was some podcast cover art weirdness going on with one of the recent builds. I ended up with cover art files in several places. Cleaned them all up, and with the latest version it has not reoccurred.
-
Guess I should have thought of that. I'm running .422. The latest is .432.
I'll give it a try.
Thanks

I don't get those on my desktop but for some reason, depending on the build, I get them to show up in the root of my C drive. It seems like they are temporary files but they are not put in the system's designated temporary folder.

It still seems to happen in the latest build......

This is strange.
Is it only the NPR podcast?
What if you set the cover art folder in Options > File Location to someplace different like C:\Cover Art Test\ to see if it makes a difference? Art for a podcast should get downloaded to a "Podcast" subfolder under your configured Cover Art folder.
Thanks.

Well.....
That might be a problem. I don't have a cover art folder. I have it set to same folder as folder.jpg and also keep in file.
So are podcasts handled in a different way in this case???

Well, I think that probably explains it. We'll try to shore this up soon.

New build seems to work
Thanks............
