Title: HTPC built in touchscreen
Post by: fphredd on February 08, 2008, 03:02:08 pm
Hi all,

New to this group, have not yet started using the software as I'm still in final HTPC planning stages.  I will probably use a Silverstone GD02 case for my unit, which includes a 4.3" touchscreen.  I will not be using the box for video, only music, so I'm looking to avoid having to use my 42" TV anymore than is necessary, which leads to the question: Will 'Theatre View' be adequate to use the small screen?  If not, is there another way to do this with MC?

Thanks for the help...searched the past topics and still had the questions, sorry if it's actually been covered.

Why exactly do you want a built in touchscreen?  I'm sort of against it because in general, I want the HTPC completely hidden from everything!  And if I get my wish and get in-wall HTPCs with built in speakers (for kitchen, garage, etc.) then I will need a completely separate standalone touchscreen.  Besides: if you need to control it, just login through Log Me In (free) and then you don't need a keyboard/mouse if the computer will boot without them.

Welcome to Interact.

Theater View should work on the small screen.
