Title: IPod: MC deleting Play Counts file

I'm using LastPod to upload the songs I've listened to to Last.fm servers. I've noticed that if I have MC open when I plug in my iPod that MC deletes the Play Counts file which can be found  at the location D:/iPod_Control/iTunes.

I've gone into MC and unchecked the "Get play stats from handheld on connect" under the handheld setting and MC is still deleting the Play Counts file.

I know the simple solution is to make sure that MC is closed when I plug in my iPod, but I would think that MC should not be touching the Play Counts file since I had turned off the option.
