Title: Carousel only for high end machines ?
Post by: j.stream on February 12, 2008, 10:22:43 am
Hi,

i'm using vista on a P4 3,2, 2Gig memory and a Radeon 1650 and the carousel view

takes about 2 minutes to appear. If i try to use the arrow keys to browse

MC hangs and after a while vista finished it. I use the latest build of MC (12.0.432 ).

In itunes the coverflow view works fantastic on my machine with ca 3000 Albums.

How many albums do you have, and how much video memory?

Thanks.

I don't know, how I can count my albums?! If I create I View Scheme just showing the item "Album" and the "All" entry says something round 2000. I think this is because I haven't tagged them as MC expected, because I don't have such a great number of albums (I wish I had ;) ). I also don't know how much video memory I've got... Vista tells me I've got 256MB dedicated video memory and alltogether 1023MB availible video memory. Does this help?

This feature is still in the experiment stage.

However, it does look like we need to do more tuning for large libraries.

Hopefully in a coming build.
