Do You Mean Media Center 12.0.441 Not Media Player 12.0.441?

What Format Is The Home Videos In?

Did You Import Them Into Media Center?

Thats A DVD File, Make Sure You Have That File Type Selected In Media Center When You Import The File.

Additional info is available in Media Center Wiki:

Probably you would just need to install the free CCCP codec pack (explained in the linked page).

King and Alex--

Not to hijack the thread, but as a longtime MC user I am now starting to get into putting my home videos onto MC.

I see I also am going to need to download and install the CCCP codec pack.

I noticed on the wiki that it says: "As a general rule, you should uninstall any previously installed codec packs, as different codec packs often conflict with each other. You should also uninstall previously installed individual filters that CCCP includes, such as FFDSHOW, Haali Media Splitter. This way you will be sure that CCCP can install and configure the filters properly."

I have installed scthom's plugins for my flac files.  do I need to uninstall these? Are there any others that come to mind?  Otherwise, I'll go ahead and install the cccp codec pack.

By the way, I found this thread because I also have some .vob files.  A friend took all my old High-8 analog tapes and burned them to DVDs, thus the .vob files.  I'd like to edit them with my Mac, so I need to convert them.  anyone recommend whether to convert them to AVI or DV, and if so, which software program works best?

Thanks,
John
