Title: MC12 Installer Crashes

Whenever I try to install MC 12.0.438 (I've tried 12.0.428, too) the installer crashes when it tries to install the Windows KB902344 MTP Hotfix.  It downloads the hotfix, but about two seconds after the installer displays "Installing...Hotfix" the thing crashes.  I already installed this hotfix manually before.  I'm running Windows XP Media Center 2004.

I don't know why it crashes. Another user had a similar problem with MJ12 and Windows 2000 Professional a few weeks ago: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=44394.msg304782#msg304782

As a workaround you could temporarily disable the internet connection. Just unplug the network cable or stop all traffic in your firewall software. I think it should be possible to run the installer without downloading and installing the MTP hotfix.

I am trying to be a new user after using the 30 day trial
I get a lock up
 what is going on and how do I fix it?

Did you install?  What version is it?

What happens and when?  How long do you wait?
