Title: update a single tag field

Hi,

I currently have JR MC set to NOT update the tags when library information is changed (as I don't want to accidently mess anything up or clutter my tags with lyrics, etc).  But I have now decided that I do want to store my ratings in my tags.  Is there a way to update only the ratings field of the file?  I know that there is the library tool - update tag from library - but if I use this it will add lyrics and cover art, etc - which I don't want.

Any help would be great.  Thanks in advance.

You cannot store tags individually in a file, but you can decide which tags you want to store in a file with the command "Update file tags (from library)".

Go to Tools>Options>Library & Folders. You can edit each individual standard or user defined field by clicking on the field name. Set/unset "Store in file tags". So you may set it not to store the lyrics or other fields. For cover art there is an additional option in Tools>Options>File Location to set/unset.
