Since updating from to 12.403 sorting of tracks with an empty album tag are ignored.
I have for years had my music sorting by album a-z.
Now, no matter what I do, tracks without albums are at the bottom - just where I don't want them.
Is there a fix coming for this?
-
Anyone?

A sorting problem was fixed recently. Did you try 12.0.451, available on the MC12 board?
-
Installed 451 but no change.
Tracks with no album are not considered for sorting Alphabetically - up or down.
Those tracks go to the bottom no matter which way you sort, whereas I have always had them displayed at the top by sorting by album a-z.
So it was since....forever (MJ5), and I am surprised at how much this little thing hurts me.
I thought I could implement some other sorting system, by date imported, or something that would reinstate my prefered display order. But it is not working.
The machine that I have with 12.403 still does it in the long-standing "right" way.
I don't know when, after that, it went awry.
Cheers
Mark

I don't have MC right in front of me, but when J River made the sorting change that may be impacting your sort, I seem to remember that they added an option switch if you didn't like the result. I flipped the switch, cause I didn't like the result. I think I found out about the switch it by looking at the change log for the various versions which told you there was a switch. I can't remember whether that is the paritcular sort issue you had, but it sounds somewhat familiar.

This is enabled by default, but you can change it:
Options > Tree & View > Sorting > Sort empty values last

Yes! Got that now.
Thanks
