Would it be possible to make the tooltips less aggressive, like maybe showing up after a second or two of mouse hovering?

They Sometimes Get In The Way And You Must Fight To Edit Tags, I Just Turn Them Off
I'd echo this, but replace the words Sometimes Get In The Way with Often Get In The Way
I've posted about this several times in the past, perhaps now that others have chimed-in this may get some attention. Please!

It may also depend on the field we are trying to edit
One of them I know of is "Name"

Me too already had a point to this:

I'am hoping for a feature to turn it of but I would like to distinguish between the "normal" tooltips and the tooltip that appears when hovering over an song/image item.

They Sometimes Get In The Way And You Must Fight To Edit Tags, I Just Turn Them Off
How is that done?
I have them turned off for tracks, but is it possible for the toolbar and the tag editor?

I Use In line Tag Editing, Not The Tag Editor
I use the tag window (Edit/Tag command) to make most changes. Selecting a number of files and making a change to all of them in the Tag window makes bulk tagging changes go very fast. However, it is very convenient and fast to type individual track names for a CD directly in the file list area. Just double click on the name field, type a value, press the down arrow key and do it again for the other tracks.
I've never understood the tagging mode features. I don't think the documentation begins to explain it properly. It seems to be a way to cause unintended changes.

That's a _slow_ double click.

This is in the FAQ here:

Edit: It's also in the Wiki.
Not to say that the manual does a good job. You're right.

Good point. It trips me up all the time.

Thanks for this lead. I understand now that it is a convenient way to add an existing value to a list field. I don't see how I could use it to enter a new value or correct a spelling error.
