Title: MP3 Encoding
Post by: royalty on March 27, 2008, 11:00:44 am
I have read some of the posts regarding a $10 license fee for the MP3 encoding plug-in on MJ12.  I have downloaded (but not installed) MJ12, but have looked around on the web site and am not sure where to order the license for the MP3 encoding, which I am willing to pay for.  Can I reference to that $10 license purchase from MJ12 after I install it? OR can someone pst a link or tell me how to find the plug-in.

This sounds like a GREAT product, and I think $10 for the MP3 encoding is pretty fair.

Thanks.  Just try using MP3 encoding.  Rip a CD or convert an existing file.  It should be automatic.

Yes, I'm just discovering this, and frankly, I'm a little upset about how I've been mislead to believe that MJ12 does everything for free when in fact it won't rip without a $10 plugin. While I have a license for MC12 which I can use on my daughter's laptop, I'm more puzzled as to why I was never told about this. I would think that a disclaimer would be somewhere about this. Have I over looked it? ? It worked under 12.025 just fine.

It will rip.  Just not to mp3 without the plugin.

But when did this take affect?

This isn't going to change.  We have to pay for the MP3 encoder, so we have to charge.
