I uses DVD Decrypter to rip files into my external sata harddisk. The problem is when new movies are ripped into the external disk, i used MC12 to playback the rip files, my computer will go into reset status, it just shut down my itself.
The scenerio is:
1) Newly install os and Mc12 - playback rip movies ok
2) Installed DVD decrypter (DVD region free) and starting ripping new movies into the same harddisk, after ripping, wanted to playback, the computer would crash. It just shut dwn by itself.
I tried the same method ON Another PC. Install new MC12 and start playback those movies. It went well but after i start to rip new movies and started to playback with MC12, the computer would shut dwn and went into reset mode.
I tried to uninstall Mc12 and reinstall the program again, but it does not help. The computer would go into reset mode after i click on MC12 even after reinstall MC12.
I have to reformat both of my computers now inorder to sucessfully reinstall MC12 again.
thanks

That is a hardware/driver problem somewhere. MC can't bring your computer down.
What file type are the files?
Are they played with DirectShow?

I thought so initially....but it happen also on my other computer.

It means you have two computers whose drivers aren't able to handle something.
Did you try changing Directshow settings? Can you answer my other questions?

They are rip VOB files from DVDs. MC 12 can sucessfully read those Rip VOB files if MC12 are install new and read from those exisiting VOB files. You can playback succesfully but if you start to install DVD decryter (+ DVD region free software) and start ripping and then playing back those file from the same Harddisk, the computer will shut down and reset itself.
Can you try and let me know why....i tried reformating both my computers and still cannot find a solution to this program.

I don't know the problem, but try a google search. Try the company's web site.
It is not an MC problem.

CCCP codec pack for video, all set in Auto mode. For Audio, i have a DTS7.1 digital card playback in directshow digital 7.1 wave format.
But if you do not rip new movies into that same harddrive, it playback flawlessly. The problem only started if you started to rip new movies into that same harddirve and start playing back, i will go crashing.

So you're saying it happens when you're reading from the disk and writing at the same time?

NO only after new movies files are added to the harddisk......it will have this problem.
-
So if you rip a movie, then re-start the machine, then play the movie,
does the machine still crash?
If not this would indicate that DVD-decrypter wasn't letting go of a resource nicely,
and when MC goes to use it everything comes tumbleing down...

Good possibility, Chriz, but even if that's the case, it is still likely to be a driver issue.
Check the "Weird Problems" thread in my signature below for examples. I think there's even a similar problem with a hard drive that was solved by updating the driver.
