Any idea if there is an option for this as there is in VLC? I have .m2t files that will play in MC no probs but they need to be deinterlaced first unless there is an option in MC to deinterlace auto when necessary.
Thanks.

There is no built-in deinterlacing in MC, but you can use deinterlacing functionality in DirectShow filters. There are two obvious options that I can think of:
1. Use FFDShow. FFDShow Video decoder filter has deinterlacing functions in it. If your file type does not use FFDShow video decoder, you can add FFDShow Raw video fitlter.
2. Use Deinterlace Filter. This filter is installed with MC for TV purposes, but may also work with certain video playback.

Thanks....I'm using FFDSHOW so I'll check it out...can you point me in the direction as to where I might find it in FFDSHOW. The file type is m2t so if anybody knows if ffdshow handles that file type let me know.
Thanks.

The screenshot on the above wiki page shows a deinterlacing checkbox half way down the left pane.
You can also look at this screenshot (http://www.pix01.com/gallery/8F665766-DBFA-4463-AD3B-53B116E314C4/FFDShowOptions/bigpage.html?image=1020820229_orig0.jpg).

What's the best method to use or is it dependant on the video. I've notice with some methods motion tends to be blurry and with others it isn't.

Anyboldy what to comment on the best method. I'm trying our FFDSHOW for deinterlacing and I"m not head over heels with the results. Can anybody else suggest ways in which to better the deinterlacing by using another method?
