Title: iPod video aspect ratio

I've just received a new iPod Classic, and I'm exploring various options for converting movies and TV shows for transfer to the iPod.  However, on the small movie I used as a test case, MC12 fails to retain the correct aspect ratio, and instead stretches the image vertically to fill the 4:3 screen of the iPod.  This happens regardless of whether I choose "iPod Native" or "iPod TV" in the conversion options, and toggling "Fit to screen" in the iPod's Video Settings menu has no effect either.

Am I missing something, or is there no way to tell MC to retain the original aspect ratio when converting to iPod format?

Thanks.  I swear I did use the Search, but all it turned up were the various Release Notes. :)
