WMP and Cyberlink DVDPlay play the audio, but for some reason MC decided to quit that today. All the settings on the DVD playback options are set to Automatic, so not sure why this is happening. Any suggestions? Would a debug file help?
thx

Now I can't even play regular stored video files. It just says 'locating...' in the display even though the files exist when I do a locate on disc command command. I must have screwed something up...

Re the DVD audio problem... Start playing a DVD and then right-click to look at the directshow property-page of the audio filter that's being used. I have seen instances where the Cyberlink audio settings can change (say from spdif-out to analog 2 speakers) for no apparent reason - maybe the result of a crash?? Anyway, worth a look..

It is playing the default audio device. It is interesting because the dvd looks really faded in MC, but in the other players it looks normal.

I am also noticing that the dvds are playing kind of sped up, and even though I reset all confirmation messages in the MC advanced options, now I can't even get the message to display that prompts you want to do when a dvd is inserted. It just simply plays it, so now I have no choice but stop play and then choose another player.

I saw this at one stage... from memory, either the vid card driver or the software was set to use overlay for video playback - I disabled overlay and all was good again.
Are your audio channels set correctly in the audio decoder?

Thanks confishy. I will check this when I get home. I re-installed MC late last night and that still didn't fix the issue. It did however at least bring back the DVD message notification. ;)
