We would love to add a TV schedule, but haven't been able to find a reasonably priced data source.

Is a pay-as-you go plugin out of the question?
Perhaps you could even code it on behalf of the 'data-sources' and let them advertise/distribute and charge each client for it's use. Of course, that may not be an acceptable model for either JRiver or the 'data-sources', never-the-less it is an option...

Is a pay-as-you go plugin out of the question?
We can't find a data source for North America. Tribune requires something like $50k a year for data, and we don't think there'd be enough users interested to justify this.
We've tried talking to Schedules Direct, but no luck so far.
We're open to other suggestions.

Can some one just make a script or something that just download the info from like tvguide web site or like TitanTv and just right or make a script more on that then having to pay a fee that they way i got a way from TIVO is a stupid monthly payment

We are talking aout the same thing as a Electronic Program Guide here?
I will start using TV tuner in MC soon, and I it would be a big plus if something like this was implemented.

How about Zap2it ?

Are polls in these forums enough of a gauge for you to go by?
If so, I would suggest perhaps a regional indicator in the question...
Would you use an EPG in MC?
(o) No
(o) Yes, I come from the land of milk and honey
(o) Yes, I live in the land of the long white cloud
(o) Yes, I come from the land of Vegemite (tm) (c) (high in vitamin B) (etc)
[edit] - mind you one good data source will probably fit all...?

How bout xmltv for data source? I know here down under, epg data is heavily restricted. You live with a payed subscription from icetv, or more recently, you can get relatively reliable data from community contribution sources, such as epg*stream (which gets its data from oztivo).
I'm sure there's good xmltv sources for most countries. the fact that its xml means it won't be too difficult to implement a simple parser to display the data in some form of 10ft interface.
Actually, its the lack of epg support in jrmc that made me move to gb-pvr for my television needs. But really, that software has some pretty interesting bugs as well, so i'd prefer to move back to jrmc.
