Title: How many machines can I have media centre running on?
Post by: alexisbatman on April 18, 2008, 09:26:02 am
Ive got a media server, a gaming pc and a laptop. Can I have media centre running on all three with one license? Can I have the media server serving both the gaming pc AND the laptop at once?

Excellent news. So, whats the upper limit on how many machines with one license? Four, Five?

We've always said it's "your" machines.  It's up to you to be reasonable about that.  We revoke a license that's abused.

That said, I think 5 or 6 is pushing the upper limit.

Yeah, I'd have it running on three max machines. I can see where you're coming from about the licenses. You don't want people taking the ****. MC is a great product by the way. I recommend it to everyone!

Thx

Alex : )

That might be a good subject for a poll (as well as good marketing data) -
On how many machines do you concurrently run the software?
I run a server and three machines. 8)

I really love the product too - I run it on 4 machines. (but then again I have 6 machines at home...)  :P

Personally, I find MC on a few machines and MJ on the rest a great way to go. I run MC on the server, the HTPC and my main desktop and then connect a couple of others via MJ for audio lsitening only - which all works a treat! I was so glad when MJ12 came out and could connect to an MC12 server.
