1. NEW: When moving the thumbnail slider to the biggest setting, the list enters a special mode that always keeps exactly one item visible and doesn't allow partial, messy looking scrolling.
This is really great but is it possible to extend it when there is exactly 2,3 or 4 rows of thumbnails ?
Maybe by adding an option "Prevent scrolling to display partial thumbnails".
The slider for the thumbnails size could also have predefined marks in its range where it displays exactly entire rows. With these settings, the step for scrolling will be an entire row.
This way, scrolling would be much faster and cleaner.

I would find it quite convenient to be able to do some basic editing from within MC (with out the pop up editor) when in full mode. Fx. editing could be activated when F was hit. Just some basic cropping, color correction, red eye removal etc.
Cheers,

I think it's two different requests. I've changed the title to avoid confusion.
My point here is to take advantage of the changes made on the view when slider is at 100% to have in general cleaner thumbnails view.
I would like to have the ability to have views with 2,3,4... full rows of thumbnails without cut.
Also the scrolling should change a full row.

Sorry to bump my topic up, but I really think this behavior would improve MC a lot.
As I guess that I'm probably not really clear about what I want, I've made a quick example in html.
http://statsgolf.free.fr/MC/albums.html (http://statsgolf.free.fr/MC/albums.html)
On this page, two list of thumbnails are displayed with the same items.
- On the right the scrolling is like MC
- On the left the scrolling is like I would like it to be. When you scroll down, you scroll entire rows. This way it's much faster and nicer.
What do you think of this ?

P.S. This page is a quick adaptation of a project of web interface for MC. It has been done really quickly so don't be too harsh on it ;)

Excellent example!
If MC would scroll its thumbs like that I'd be all for it.

um, they look the same to me?

um, they look the same to me?
pay attention to the scrolling behavior.
Both these featues get my vote!

You have to use your mouse to scroll. ;)

Ah... I'm on a laptop using a touchpad. They both scroll the same from my machine.

I'm pretty sure the scrolling in MC can be affected by apps such as Logitech's SetPoint. I do like your idea but I wonder how 3rd party mouse apps will affect this...sounds like users who see no differenec, ot least a very subtle one, may have 1 line scrolling enabled. I do like your idea because when I set scrolling to a larger margin (page) eventually the Tiles do get cut off. Picasa (whose smooth scrolling Mc should someday emulate) seems to disregard OS/3rd party settings fyi. I like to scroll through album Tiles with "bigger" scrolls so it would be handy to have your suggestion implemented.

I've make a quick (and ugly) modification for you to have an idea without mouse wheel:
You now have two buttons scrollup and scrolldown that do the same that when you use the wheel.
The idea is to avoid the display of cut thumbnails.
