Title: Moved my library to a new system, now nothing will play.
Post by: BenRad on April 21, 2008, 12:35:06 pm
I'm going to be a complete nube and say that I searched the forum, but I can't really seem to find any solution for this. I vaguely remember this happening to me years ago with MC11 but don't remember how I fixed it.

I've switched to a newer pc at work and my drive letters have changed. My music files used to be on drive E and now they're on drive D. I did the find and replace procedure in the help file and everything looks good. However, when I attempt to play any of my music, it will start up (no sound, just the spectrum analyzer jumps) and then nothing. I've tried messing with the sound settings and nothing seems to work. The files play fine in WMP. Any ideas?

Thanks

Maybe the path doesn't match.  Hover over a file in MC to see where MC thinks it is.  Then check to see if it's there.

Yes, I forgot to mention that the path is correct.

Try right clicking on a file in MC and doing a Locate.

Hmm, it appears to be a Vista issue. Every other media player OTHER than Windows Media Player doesn't work. Grrrrr.

And like that...it fixed itself on its own.

Thanks.
