I updated iTunes and did a sync. Then I started MC 12.0.481 and did a sync and it want to sync all songs of one album but the first song. After that I went back to iTunes and did a sync and it wanted to sync the same songs. This is an endless loop of neither program agreeing on what to sync on one particular album although the first song of that album MC and iTunes do agree not to resync.
Any ideas?

Are the ratings different in MC than they are in iTunes?
-
No ratings are shown with VISTA, iTunes and MC 12.

Please send me (rick at jriver dot com) the logs.

The logs should be in your mail box. I am backing out iTunes to the previous release to see if that is the issue then I'll retest.

I went back to iTunes 7.6.1.9 and did a resync. I also restored the album in question from backup files. MC 12.0.481 still wants to sync two songs of the restored album.
I did notice that the two songs in question had a slightly different album name shown below:
The Greatest Hits 1966-1992 (Disk 2) songs 1 and 9 - verses - The Greatest Hits 1966-1992 Disk 2
As I recall, previous versions of MC and iTunes did sync with each other with different album name tags.

MC's content match rule for audio files on iPods has always been - track name;artist name;album name;genre;tracknumber;media type. If iTunes was writing "(Disk 2)" and it was "Disk 2" in MC that would not be considered a match. It looks like iTunes feels the same way about it...

Not quite so fast with that idea. MC sync'd before against the iTunes 7.6.9.1 sync so when did you change rules? That particular album has been named that way for quite some time. And that includes the last time I was at this forum with sync issues. I have changed nothing except install a new version of MC.
