Title: Smartlist - Does not number each song
Post by: music07 on April 23, 2008, 08:11:48 am

 Hello,

I would like to know if I can enable the column on a smartlist
that numbers each file.  For example, if I have 50 mp3
files and have them filed in a playlist, the 1st column numbers
each track telling me I have 50 songs.
However, when I build a smartlist I cannot find where I am able
to number how many tracks I have.  Any solutions for this?

Thanks,
Rick

No useful solution that I know of.  I've requested similar in the past.

The only idea I have is to drag the smartlist into a normal playlist. Kind of annoying, but should work.

Just out of curiosity... what's the need for that column in a smartlist?

The status bar at the bottom of the MC window displays the number of songs, as well as the total size and playing time.  Not quite sure what an extra ordinal column would add, especially since the contents of the Smartlist, by its very nature, may change every time you use it.

Well, a Seq# column would not harm my top 20 smartlists genre by genre.
