Title: Download Manager doesn't remember settings
Post by: Fastyves on August 01, 2002, 03:13:15 pm
1. When Download Manager is open, and I try to download an album (or a single file) from EMusic, I always get this message : "Download Manager failed to open ... "
But when it's closed, hitting the download button on the EMusic web page opens Download Manager, and it starts downloading fine !

2. When after changing the "Default Download Directory" and the "All Downloads Finished" settings, I close Download Manager and launch a download from the EMusic web page, Download Manager starts downloading - ignoring the changes of settings I made ?

Bug or not bug, that's the question ?

Fastyves,

Yves,
I can't duplicate 1 and 2. For 1, try close all your running browsers that are on the emusic site, open a fresh IE and try download from it again. For 2, did you restart your pc and login as a different user? Because the settings are user based.

Raymond,

Problem 1

Here's the way I proceed :

1. Start MJ
2. Starts IE6 --> EMusic (new login of course)
3. Select the Album I need and click the Download Album button
4. Downoload Manager pops up and starts downloading

But, once the downloads are finished, If I find a second album to download, then I've to close first Download Manager to avoid that "Download Manager failed to open ... " message.

Problem 2

As mentionned, to turnaround problem 1, I've to close Download Manager in order to be able to download a second album.
Before closing Download Manager, I change the "Default Download Directory" to get the new album at its right place.
It's there Download Manager doesn't remember this change (neither the "All Downloads Finished" settings change).
I do no reboot, I do not even close MJ !

Hope this has clarified a little my problems.

Yves.
